The story After You
My Dear Alphonse by, Shirley Jackson really relates to reverse racism because
in the story when Ms. Wilson found out that Bloyd was black she kept treating
him a lot of kindness and trying to give him a lot of food to eat and clothes
because she thought that his family didn't have much of that and she tried
really hard to make him feel like he has all of that. When Ms. Wilson said “And
I have a few
dresses that your mother or sister could probably use. Your mother
can make them over into lots of things for all of you,” that really shows a
good example of reverse racism and the author is really telling us that how you shouldn't treat people that way just because of their skin color and you don’t
know what they went through so you can’t judge them just because of what they
look like. This doesn't happen in today society as much as it did back then but
there are some people even today that will judge people without really knowing
them and treat them how they think they should be treated.
